Twenty-three years ago, my grandmother created a culmination of the family's greatest recipes.  Including the traditional Thanksgiving sauce for sweet potatoes and yams, Auntie Judy's Yummie Onion Soup, and my great grandmother's tuna dish (she did not cook much), the book contained much more than recipes; it reminded us of all the memory's we have had over the years as a family.  The purple, grease-stained, destroyed recipe packet lives on today, seen in the picture above.  Having grown up tasting all the recipes, one has always stuck out as my favorite: Grammy Mahon's Irish Bread.  Also one of my mother's favorite recipes, we have baked this scrumptious treat together many times.  Through Highlands Elementary School, we would scramble to make nine heart-shaped loafs the night before St. Patty's Day.  We would assemble three hearts together to look like a shamrock, tie a green ribbon around them, and give the masterpiece to the teachers of my brother, my sister, and me.
